About
Ina Maka
I am Ina Maka, the heart and soul behind Mamamakamedicine. As a daughter of the diaspora, I am on a journey to reclaim the rich, vibrant heritage and culture of my ancestors that was stripped away by the Great Migration north. My story is a tapestry woven from the threads of resilience, tradition, and a deep connection to the earth and spirit. Growing up as a great-granddaughter of sharecroppers and land workers, I carry the legacy of hard work, dedication, and a profound connection to the land. Today, I am a mother of free children, committed to deprogramming from systems that seek to limit our freedom and reclaiming our right to live authentically and abundantly.
My path as a medicine woman is one of seeking spirit through ancient practices and transforming personal trauma into powerful healing.

I reside on Tuscarora land in Tarboro North Carolina .
